Arianna M. Masotti is an attorney in the Firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Transactions practice groups.     Her practice includes drafting and negotiating purchase, sale, and lease agreements and financing documents. She also provides advice on general business and corporate projects.  Arianna brings a client-focused approach to her work, emphasizing risk mitigation and benefit maximization in every matter she handles. Li Ann Butterfield is a dedicated and accomplished attorney at Friedlander Misler, practicing in the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Transactions groups. She applies her wealth of experience to a broad spectrum of legal matters for parties involved in commercial real estate transactions in the D.C. area and across the country. Li Ann’s practice includes representing lenders in loan drafting and modifications, including acquisition and construction loans, for a variety of property types, such as multifamily dwellings, storage units, and commercial retail buildings. Steve Goldman is an accomplished commercial lawyer with decades of in-house experience at some of the world’s most recognizable hospitality brands. Prior to joining Friedlander Misler in 2017, he spent 15 years at Marriott International, where he advanced to Associate General Counsel and Executive Vice President, and he served as Secretary for the Marriott franchisee association for over a dozen years. Steve’s career also includes senior positions at ITT Sheraton as General Counsel of the Franchise Division and Holiday Inn Worldwide as Senior Counsel. Steve leverages this extensive experience in hospitality operations and development, as well as his vast industry connections, for the benefit of his clients, the majority of whom own or operate lodging properties. These clients seek out Steve’s in-depth legal and business knowledge of franchise and management agreements, dual branding (e.g., “soft brands”), and operating and licensing mixed-use projects, residential sales and rental programs, and casino resorts. Jennifer is a member in the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Transactions practice groups, where she focuses on a variety of complex commercial real estate transactions. While the majority of her practice is focused on representing national and local developers, investors, and owners in the acquisition, disposition and financing of office, retail, multifamily, industrial and mixed-use properties, she also counsels clients on various corporate, joint venture, and leasing matters. Jennifer also frequently assists both sellers and purchasers of multifamily property in the District of Columbia on compliance with the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA). Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer served as a Legal Extern with the United States Housing and Urban Development (Atlanta, GA) in its Office of Program Services. Lois brings more than 40 years of experience in handling commercial real estate and business transaction issues. She joined the firm in late 2000. Her practice covers all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including representation of institutional investors, developers and financial institutions in the negotiation, documentation and closing of commercial transactions. Her experience also includes business transactions involving transfers of equity interests and assets in private or closely held companies, development rights transactions, structuring development entities, foreclosures and workouts, leasing, GSA leasing, and commercial construction contracts. For 24 years prior to joining Friedlander Misler, Lois was at the D.C. law firm Wilkes Artis. Lois is a past Co-Chair of the D.C. Bar’s Real Estate Section. She served as an Editor of the Law Review at George Mason University Law School.
