Commercial Litigation Attorney
Washington, DC
Join a well-established, highly regarded litigation practice in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1964, Friedlander Misler, PLLC, is a boutique law firm known for its commercial real estate, corporate, and litigation practices. We are seeking a senior-level Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our growing team in Washington, D.C.
About the Role:
This position offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated commercial litigation matters across a range of industries, with a particular emphasis on commercial real estate and construction disputes. This attorney will be involved in all stages of litigation, from managing case development, discovery, and motion practice to trial (as first chair). The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of experience in a law firm litigation practice
- Significant experience handling commercial disputes, particularly in commercial real estate and construction matters
- Strong litigation management skills, including oversight of deadlines, filings, and multiple workstreams
- Excellent legal writing and analytical abilities, with experience drafting motions, briefs, and written discovery
- Deposition experience and familiarity with large, complex litigation matters
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach
- Portable business is preferred but not required
Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and be admitted to, and in good standing with, the D.C. Bar, or be eligible to waive into the D.C. Bar.

Lateral Leasing Attorney – Commercial Real Estate

This is a newly created position driven by client demand and firm expansion. The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience with a primary focus on negotiating and drafting commercial leasing agreements
- A background in retail and/or office leasing (representing landlords, tenants, or both)
- Strong client service orientation and ability to manage matters independently
